Yes, Bluebell Bridal alterations consultations are by appointment only and are subject to availability.

Bluebell Bridal does not charge a fee for alterations consultations.

Please bring with you to every appointment your wedding shoes, undergarments and accessories.

The alterations ladies are available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays but not on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays or public holidays.

During the unprecedented times of COVID-19, we ask you to bring a maximum of two guests with you.

Regrettably, extra guests are not be permitted and we cannot offer swapping over of guests during your alterations appointment.

You will receive an email on booking to confirm your appointment (please always check junk folders)

You’ll also receive a mobile text message up to 48 hours prior to your appointment as a reminder.

As the work required to ensure the correct fit  is specific and unique to each person, we are not able to offer quotes in advance of any alterations appointments.

At your consultation, you will be provided with a quote along with a list of the scope of works required to ensure the correct fit for your special day.

Any weight loss or gain after your initial fitting that constitutes additional tailoring/ alterations will result in additional fee’s. Usually at the same cost as the original tailoring service. So, it’s our recommendation that you try to achieve the physique you want before you start the tailoring.

Alterations appointments cannot be booked online .

Our commitment is have your gown fitting correctly for you for your special day. Following your initial consultation you may expect up to 3-4 additional appointments.  This does vary from bride to bride.

Your initial consultation runs for one hour. Every subsequent appointment runs for 30 minutes

We suggest you book your first appointment about 10 weeks ahead of your wedding.

Please provide no less than 48 hours notice as we often have a long wait list of ladies wanting to book an appointment

A reminder sms and email is sent 48 hours prior to your appointment to confirm.

Given how special wedding gowns are, we kindly ask that you do not bring in food or drinks to the salon.

We have a service that allows for gowns to be altered quickly. Please call us to discuss further.

Upon your arrival at our salon, we will introduce you to your alterations specialist, who will discuss in detail the alterations required to ensure the correct fit for you for your special day. At this stage of the consultation we do not pin your gown or outfit.

Following this discussion you’ll be provided with a quote. If you decide that you’d like to go ahead, we will ask for a 50% deposit of the total amount due and will commence pinning your gown.  The final amount is due when you are ready to take your gown/outfit home with you to wear.

At this appointment, your follow up appointments are booked.

It is critical that you bring with you your gown (unless, as a Bluebell Bridal bride we have your gown) your shoes and any chosen undergarments.

Bluebell Bridal endeavours to assist all brides.  Appointments are available subject to availability. During peak periods preferred appointment times can be booked and unavailable.

We have a no photos or video policy once the works commence.

We are able to provide you with information on safe storage. We also have the names of specialists who can offer advice on gowns storage.

We work with each customer to ensure timely delivery, but generally your gown will be ready about 1 – 2 weeks prior to your wedding day. When you book your alterations appointments, you’ll be able to discuss the completion date to work with your alterations specialist.

Certainly, you are not obliged to engage our alterations service.

Bluebell Bridal is located on Flinders Lane in the “Paris Quarter” District of fabulous Melbourne.

If your are driving in to visit us and looking for under cover parking, we recommend googling “City CBD parking near 141 Flinders Lane”.   A list of car parks will appear for you to research and make a selection on what is most convenient  for you from a location and rate view point.

If using public transport, we are close to Flinders Street Station, and numerous tram routes.

With regret, our salon does not have public bathroom facilities.

The closest public facilities we are in knowledge of are at The Melbourne Town Hall located on the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets and also in Federation Square near Time-Out Cafe.
